YOUR opportunity  to indulge yourself in Bluegrass and Old Time Country Music in all its varied forms in true authentic style, with a wonderful sound system (See “Audio Technology” (Aust) Issue 73) that gives you live full volume  CD quality  acoustic music  throughout the concert area in a genuine UNPLUGGED performance situation  .  In 2009 we had over 25 bands featured in live performance, and this year will offer even more- – Bluegrass and old time music from both the past and the current living tradition of this, one of the most widespread traditional based musics in the world today.     And ... Harrietville  not just for sitting & listening -  Thursday Evening following the Marquee show there is  a real old time mountain square dance .  On Saturday and Sunday in addition to concerts there are workshops for Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, Dobro and Bass  players from beginner to advanced—plus harmony singing, vocal techniques and MORE!

  The special overseas guests for 2010 are  one of California’s top Bluegrass Bands—”Blue & Lonesome” ; from   Ohio comes  old time  country stringband  “The Corndrinkers”  and  from Tasmania ( well it is sort of overseas!) The New Holland Honey Eaters—in their onstage live “1930’s Country Radio Show.”  See details further on in the webpage.
