Thursday 17th Nov 2011

Eat on site from 4pm at “THE HUB” restaurant tent— full meals and snacks, tea, coffee  all evening. (Bar open until  1 am.)

The Community Concert starts in the Marquee at 7:30 pm with our special overseas Bluegrass guests, Ross Nickerson and X-Train. This will be followed by a welcome return  at   8:15 with  The New Holland Honey Eaters. Their multimedia “live on air” journey takes us back in time to country radio in the days of Steinbeck’s “Grapes Of Wrath”. The 2011 show, “Don’t Touch That Dial”: Early Radio and the Making of Country Music will be a totally new magical journey of superb harmonies, virtuoso musical skills on guitar, banjo, fiddle, etc as the band take us into the late 1930’s. For all the family - simply wonderful!  Some of the comments in 2010 were: “It was wonderful, I never thought the music could be so fantastic”. Just like being a time traveller”. “Would make a wonderful documentary movie.

At 10:00 iin the Hall, it is time for  Mountain Square Dance  in the Community Hall with the Bobby Taylor Band from West Virginia and the North Carolina Redhots with Joe Thrift and Tom Riccio with chief caller, Judy Jones. All dances are taught and called. No previous dance experience necessary. Bring the kids. All welcome! Walk-up tickets for the entire evening are only $20 (free with early bird & pre-booked weekend passes).
